"Raison d'être" of the Henri Savall-ISEOR Foundation
Western civilization undergoes very profound transformations in the 21st century.nd In particular, due to the chaotic evolution of globalization and the acceleration of technological innovations (e.g. digitization and artificial intelligence). These changes represent both opportunities and risks for individuals, businesses and organizations, for peace and for the planet itself. In order to succeed in the necessary changes, one of the most important conditions is to move towards socially responsible capitalism, respectful of sustainable development, integrating economic development, human and social development, as well as environmental preservation.
The Henri Savall-ISEOR Foundation is part of this mission to promote socially responsible capitalism. It makes available to stakeholders the socio-economic method as an engineering for the development of sustainable global performance and socially responsible capitalism. This method, developed by Henri Savall and ISEOR for more than fifty years, has proved to be scientifically sound. However, it is still insufficiently disseminated and largely ignored by the general public, which is an obstacle to the promotion of the general interest and the defence of the Common Good.
The socio-economic approach to developing global sustainable performance can be applied at five levels:
–Strategic management and management of companies and organisations, putting at the heart of the financial decision investment in the qualitative development of the Human Potential.
It is demonstrated that this is a necessary condition for increasing the profitability of material and technological investment. The ISEOR database shows that the application of socio-economic approach to management (SEAM) to investment allows for an annual multiplier effect of between 200 and 4 000 %, while the traditional methods of management control produce far lower and less sustainable results.
–Socio-economic management of inter-companies projects and organisations.
ISEOR's work shows that it is possible to reduce costs and create value through socio-economic management of interfaces between economic actors in a sector. For example, socio-economic intervention-research have reduced building construction costs by more than 20% while improving their overall quality.
–Territory management.
The aim is to unblock public policy actions in order to reduce the hidden costs of dysfunctions, improving their efficiency and reducing the budgets allocated. For example, ISEOR's work shows that it is inefficient to increase the budget of hospitals, if cooperation between the different actors in health and prevention is not improved simultaneously, within the hospital and at the level of its local, regional and national environment.
–Management of public action
–Managing international standards.
The globalization of recent decades has evolved in a desynchronised manner, focusing on international trade standards and financial standards, often to the detriment of the harmonization of quality-safety-environment standards and, above all, neglecting the coherence of social standards with the other three clusters of standards. The work of the ISEOR with the ILO has shown that this problem of inconsistency between these four groups of standards, according to the phenomenon called « tetranormalization » requires a new approach to « humanized globalization ».
The aim is to promote a sustainable and harmonious overall performance that avoids hidden macro-costs that undermine economic and social prosperity. The socio-economic method thus places emphasis on the Human Potential, as the only active factor of value added creation. active This renews the foundations of the dominant economic and management theories and methods, currently applied, in which humans are instrumentalised, as human capital, not recognized as having a unique human potential and with ethical demands and dignity.
The Foundation plays a role in the development and dissemination of socio-economic methods, by encouraging practices of actors ignoring the socio-economic method itself, such as: « Mr. Jourdain » who wrote prose without knowing it. The Foundation can also step up experimental work and make citizens aware of their potential for sustainable economic prosperity, as highlighted by the scientific research carried out by l'ISEOR, for nearly half a century.
In order to highlight the achievements, various types of awards may be awarded to different categories of authors and exemplary actors, e.g. to promote the following actions (not exhaustive list):
- evaluations of cases of companies which implicitly perform socio-economic management.
-The pioneering work of accountants and financial directors of companies.
-Qualimetric evaluations of the performance of inter-firm cooperation actions.
-Qualimetric evaluations of sustainable performance of actions to coordinate overall performance at territorial level.
–Innovative research,
The Prizes will be presented after evaluation by the Foundation's Executive Committee and will be the subject of a wide dissemination and communication, notably at the annual Conferences of the ISEOR : de Printemps (mixed colloquium with academic dominance) and d
